PET-CT This is an advanced examination that combines two imaging technologies – CT-Computed Tomography with nuclear medicine technology known as Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The CT provides an anatomical result and the PET provides a functional result. This method can be used, among other things, to diagnose medical conditions in brain tissue.
The importance of the examination is in its ability to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease prior to the appearance of any symptoms, information that may allow for preventative treatment adjustment even before the disease has occurred.
Early identification should in the future be the main response to the spreading disease.
